Many of the top brokerage firms use the Bloomberg terminal to find crucial market information. In addition to providing market data, the Bloomberg terminal provides internal email and instant message communication (IM) system. These messages are often difficult to archive because they are not routed through these firm's existing message capture infrastructure. Brokerage firms have an obligation to fulfill the SEC-17A compliance requirements as needed by NASD. The non-archival of some of these email and IM creates compliance problems, exposing these firms to SEC fines and penalties.
While Bloomberg provides this information in a raw format, they do not provide tools to integrate this information into existing email archiving systems. CommonDesk has developed a module that will download, process, and archive Bloomberg email and IM, as a fully supported and managed product offering.
This module integrates with other CommonDesk capture modules and provides: - An integrated messages namespace
- A user discovery system that will "discover" new and existing accounts for all Bloomberg users
- Daily reports on user and message capture statistics
- Management with the same interface as the PINcushion system
- Same archiving mechanism as this module is integrated into existing email archives
- Uniform reports across all message types - providing a simple manageable system.
